El Pacae" Farm is located in San Lorenzo, a small town of 1500 residents, in the district of Ocobamba, Region of Cusco. Virgilio Carpio lives in this small town with his wife and children and he is well know in the community for his passion and innovation in his style of coffee production. Finca "El Pacae" is named due to the high volume of pacae shrubs that cover the farm and surrounding forests. Pacae is a South American native leguminous plant grown in Peru since the times of the Inca Empire. Using intercropping techniques, pacae shrubs offer great shade for the coffee trees as well as being a source of nitrogen to the soil. This makes pacae a great partner plant to help grow specialty coffee and Virgilio highly understands the advantage he has and can showcase a very special and unique coffee bean.

“This coffee was absolutely delicious. Yummy flavours. Probably one of the best coffees I've made at home. Very strong chocolate flavour. I've also made a cold brew from it and it was sweet.”
